Each year the fourth and fifth grade students at the John Eliot School complete a unit of study about the Caldecott Medal. This unit includes a mock Caldecott where we evaluate a selection of picture books published in the current year and hold an election to choose the "most distinguished picture book illustrations" of the year. We have named our school award the "Eldecott Medal"
